AWARD
Resilience in Action Award
We’re honoured to announce that Seenaryo has been awarded the Resilience in Action Award by HundrED. The award acknowledges the impact of the work we are doing, fostering resilience in children in emergency contexts in Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan.
Naqiya Ebrahim, our Executive Director, was at the HundrED summit in Helsinki to accept the award and to represent the Seenaryo Playkit, which has been selected as one of HundrED’s top 100 innovations to watch out for in 2025 – selected from 3000 applicants. Their Global Collection highlights 100 of the brightest education innovations from around the world each year. You can see the full report here.
This award comes at a time when over 625,000 students in Gaza have had no access to education in the last year and 90% of schools have been destroyed. In Lebanon, 70% of schools are now shelters for those displaced. As always happens in war, the most vulnerable people – children – are the most heavily affected.
As Euan Wilmshurst presented the award, he noted: “Play is much more than just a pastime. It’s the foundation of how all children grow, learn and make sense of the world. In the context of conflict and crisis, play becomes even more vital. Seenaryo’s commitment to helping children and educators build resilience is a profound reminder to us all that even in the most challenging of circumstances there is room for growth, connection and even joy.”
