Ibn Battuta Travels in London
Seenaryo and Shubbak present Ibn Battuta Travels, being performed as part of Shubbak Festival 2025. Join us at Grand Junction (W2) for this rare opportunity to see Seenaryo’s theatre live in London.
Inspired by the legend of the Maghrebi Muslim traveller Ibn Battuta, this original piece of theatre explores travel, borders and movement—then and now.
Following in the footsteps of Ibn Battuta, the ensemble weaves together a mosaic of stories that transcend place and defy borders. Ibn Battuta Travels roams through time and space, questioning who gets to travel and why.
Directed by Tanushka Muna Marah and supported by Associate Director Yasmeen Audisho Ghrawi, the play has been co-created with community participants in London with connections to the SWANA region. It is an ensemble piece, rooted in physicality and collective movement.
Generously supported by Drosos Foundation, Arts Council England, Porticus and Adam Baghdadi.
