Seenaryo and Women Now For Development are pleased to invite you to Souriyeh, a play devised by our Women’s Theatre.

Souriyeh is the result of our intensive theatre programme with Syrian women who lived through war and migration before finding refuge in Lebanon. Nine women between the ages of 16 and 42 will speak, dance, and sing about love, death, hope, imprisonment, and success in the time of war.

سوريّة هو عرض مسرحي، نتيجة ورشة عمل مكثفة مع نساء وفتيات سوريات، عشن الحرب، والتهجير، والهروب، ثم اللجوء الى لبنان.

9 نساء بين عمر 16 و 42 عاماً يتحدثن، يرقصن، ويغنين الحب، والحرب، والموت، والأمل، والسجن، والنجاح في زمن الحروب.

سيتم عرضه ضمن حملة الـ 16 يوم لمناهضة العنف ضد المرأة بتنظيم من منظمة النساء الآن من أجل التنمية ومؤسسة سيناريو واخراج فرح ورداني، وذلك يومي الثلاثاء 28 تشرين الثاني والجمعة 1 كانون الأول 2017 الساعة 7 مساءاً على مسرح الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت Auditorium B – AUB .

About the Partners

Seenaryo is an arts and education organisation that works with refugees and host communities in Lebanon. We empower refugees by enabling them to create high-quality art. We build professional capacity by training schoolteachers and young people in facilitation and artistic skills.

Women Now For Development is a Syrian grassroots civil society organisation working to empower Syrian women and children through social, economic and cultural participation inside Syria and its neighbouring countries.

Farah Wardani is an actor, clown doctor, puppeteer, drama teacher, and applied theatre practitioner. She is the founder of Wasl by Labandirector of Laban Live, as well as a faculty member of the Arab School of Playback Theatre.  She works in Lebanon and the region with different communities and contexts.
